What are your favourite memories from Gen 2? Did you play the originals or were exposed to Johto at a later date ie. HGSS? What is remarkable about the region? Share your thoughts and discuss anything and everything from soundtrack, gyms, region, dex and more!

I was introduced to Gen 2 via HGSS. I loved carrying my pokewalker around a a kid and also loved to have a pokemon follow me. The postgame content has to be the best, as you unlock Kanto, with a total of 16 badges to collect! (And I remember then being quite challenging). This is also the game where French games became sort of a norm here in Quebec. English games were still sold, but the french version would be put in front. It was a disappointment, as I was always used to playing the games in english. But later on, I found an english Soulsilver and enjoyed my experience  |

The first time I played Gen 2 I was 11 and was given a very badly translated copy of Pokemon Gold on floppy disc (I know right) well before its western release!
The memories of never really knowing what would pop out the grass next and the surprise of seeing new Pokemon is a feeling I have never had since, and are probably the main reasons I love Gen 2 and have so any fond memories of it-a more simpler time:)
