Last Gen 7 Pokémon or First Gen 8? I'm already thinking ahead since last weeks suspicious figurine removal. Thoughts on this?

What I expect is that it could be a Gen 8 pokemon.
I think a plausible scenario is that this will promote Gen 8 early for newest players. People would get familiarized with the design. I would see it used in the next game's promotion, giving a grounding point to the new fans who would consider buying the next game. I have hard time seeing it as a gen 7 because of the console differences. This is a very blurry line because of this factor, until we get a little more information.
